Most people who know me, know that I do not use a lot of makeup especially on a daily basis, I mean even for work! I usually wear full on makeup when I am going out to an event, doing a photoshoot or a YouTube video, but really on any ordinary day, I usually have minimal to no makeup on. By Minimal I mean my favourite lipstick, eyeliner & or Mascara and that’s it! Most people always comment about my skin thinking I am wearing foundation, when I tell them I am not, they cannot  believe me beyond a shadow of doubt! Until they look closer and see some of my blemishes & light acne marks which are still visible but only if you squint lol! So in this post I wanted to share my skincare routine as well as some of my favourite & go-to products for my skin.

Routine:

Firstly, when I wake up I like to put some cold/slightly warm water on my face, this usually makes my skin feel refreshed & awake.

I then follow up with my Lipidol cleansing face oil, This is staple product in my routine. It’s also a great makeup remover and because its oil it removes dirt, pollution, pollen, sweat and any impurities that I may have encountered during the day.

Then I wash my face using the Vichy Cleansing foam, I use this as a substitute when I have run out of  my Dermafix Cleansing gel.

I am not consistent with toner, however when I do use toner I use the Vichy Purete Thermale toner, which claims to remove makeup residue & impurities.

For moisturising, absolutely love my Vichy Mineral 89 Booster. Its amazing!! I use it day and night without a fail. This is a very light gel moisturiser with a liquid consistency almost like water and it’s nothing short of amazing on my skin.

I then use another moisturiser which is the Dermafix VitaPlex-C cream for environmentally stressed skin. Derma Fix is a range I discovered whilst going to a dermatologist, they have amazing skin care products which I have been using for 2 years now.

Next I would put on Suncreen lotion with an SPF of 50+ for my face and neck. I cannot emphasise the importance of protecting your skin from UV Rays, it did wonders for my skin, I use either the Nivea oone, clicks range in goldish bottle as well as the Eucerin Mattifying sun lotion.

After the Sunscreen, I then put on my Ponds lasting oil control vanishing & matte cream & put on some lipstick, eyeliner & Mascara & I am good to go!

I purchased all these products from clicks with the exception of Dermafix which is only sold by dermatologists, spas or at their head offices. I don’t remember pricing because I have had these for a while now ☹.

Lipidol was about R80, but its no longer sold at clicks as they have stopped distributing in SA temporarily, they way I love this product I had to contact the company and find out why.  Lookout for my detailed review of Lipidol Products and where you can purchase in the meantime.
