A few years ago, I started using Jamaican black Castor oil for my hair, and during that time I noticed that my hair looked healthier, thicker, softer and shiny, but most of all my hair grew and I attributed the growth to the addition of JBCO to my hair care regimen. At the time, I was not consistent with the application of the oil, but I used it enough to see a change in my hair. However, Lately I have been struggling a bit with my hair, and have noticed that my hair is dry, breaking, falling out more and looks thinner, so I decided that I will be revisiting JBCO for my hair care regimen to boost my hair growth and health.

Jamaican black castor oil is extracted from dried up organic castor been seeds which are roasted, pounded and boiled. JBCO is rich with ricinoleic acid, omega fatty acids and vitamin E which have amazing benefits for hair and skin. JBCO contains anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties that help to treat scalp issues which can result in dryness, flaking as well as scalp infections. The oil has has a very thick consistency and burnt nut and ashy smell, which some people don’t like but I actually don’t mind the scent.

 

How I apply JBCO to my Hair.

 

I usually apply my jbco at night before bed about three times a week. I use it as a hot oil treatment, by Pouring some of the oil into a hair applicator bottle and dipping the bottle in hot (Boiled) water to warm the oil. I then apply the oil to my scalp and massage my scalp using my fingertips. I don’t washout the oil the next day and find that my scalp is not oily and the oil has absorbed into my scalp.
